Recruiting new mentors

BOGA first launched the Mentorship Program in 2005. The objectives of the program include sharing of experience with senior BPS students by alumni, enhancing the bondage between past and current BPS girls and cultivating a sense of belonging to BPS. Over 600 young girls have benefitted from the program, and a lot of them have maintained contacts with their mentors even after the school years.

Our pool of mentors reaches over 100 from different industries and professions. In the past years, our target mentees were S6 students, but as the new NSS system comes into operation, the program will be targeting S5 students from the academic year 2011-12 onwards, and the number of potential mentees are around 130 per year. As a result, we would like to recruit more mentors in order to enable an optimal ratio of 1:2. In particular, mentors in the areas of medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology, translation, and communications / journalism are most sought after. Mentors of other fields are also wanted.

Please contact Connie Chiu (email connieshchiu.621@gmail.com or phone 9469-6393) or Joyce Chan (email joyceshc@yahoo.com if you are interested or want more information. Your participation will benefit more young girls!
